6:10 PM Eastern
Kansas City Royals vs. Cleveland Guardians
Royals starting pitcher Michael Wacha does a good job of not hurting himself, giving up just 0.8 home runs and 2.3 walks per nine innings, but posted a 3.86 ERA, getting only 6.6 strikeouts per nine innings. Guardians starting pitcher Tanner Bibee is coming off of posting a 4.24 ERA with 1.3 home runs per nine innings allowed last season, but has behind him a bullpen that was third in ERA last season at 3.44. The Royals offense was 26th in scoring last season, with just over four runs per game.
Pick: Guardians Moneyline -110
(Greg’s Handicap Guardians -146)
6:40 PM Eastern
San Diego Padres vs. Pittsburgh Pirates
Pirates starting pitcher Bubba Chandler has made only eight career MLB appearances but has already shown good stuff, posting a 3.53 ERA that doesn’t reflect how well he’s pitched. He has a fielding independent is 2.89 with 0.5 home runs and 2.5 walks per nine innings allowed. Padres starting pitcher German Marquez posted a 6.70 ERA with 5.9 strikeouts and 3.4 walks per nine innings while with the Colorado Rockies last season. He looked shaky in his first start with the Padres, allowing four runs in three innings.
Picks: Pirates Moneyline -118 and Under 8.5 Runs
(Greg’s Handicap Pirates -135 and Total 8.1)
6:45 PM Eastern
St. Louis Cardinals vs. Washington Nationals
Cardinals starting pitcher Andre Pallante pitches to quite a bit of contact. Last year, he posted a 5.31 ERA with just 6.1 strikeouts per nine innings. Nationals expected starting pitcher Zack Littell, who had an opener work in front of him in his previous appearance, recorded just 6.3 strikeouts per nine innings last season, supplying a 3.81 ERA with a 4.88 fielding independent with 1.7 home runs per nine innings allowed. Littell is backed up by a bullpen that was last in ERA last season at 5.59. The Nationals offense was 26th in run production at home last season, with just over 3.9 runs per game.
Pick: Cardinals Moneyline -105
(Greg’s Handicap Cardinals -134)
7:40 PM Eastern
Detroit Tigers vs. Minnesota Twins
Tigers starting pitcher Casey Mize is coming off a 2025 season in which he posted a 3.87 ERA with 1.3 home runs per nine innings allowed. Twins starting pitcher Joe Ryan had a 3.42 ERA with 1.4 home runs per nine innings allowed. Both offenses are off to good starts, with the Twins averaging over 4.6 runs per game, while the Tigers entered Sunday Night Baseball averaging 4.9 runs per game. The Twins bullpen is coming off a season in which they were 26th in ERA at 4.60.
Pick: Tigers vs. Twins Over 7 Runs
(Greg’s Handicapped Total 8.1)
8:40 PM Eastern
Houston Astros vs. Colorado Rockies
The Astros are coming off a 10-inning game in Sacramento with lots of bullpen use. They are forced to give pitcher Cody Bolton his first career start, with Hunter Brown going on the injured list. Bolton owns a lifetime ERA of 5.60 coming out of the bullpen and now must pitch at the ballpark that aids scoring the most in baseball. Rockies starting pitcher Ryan Feltner missed much of last season due to injury, but between 2024 and 2025, he pitched better than his 4.53 ERA would indicate. His fielding independent was 4.19 with 1.1 home runs and three walks per nine innings allowed across 36 starts in that stretch.
Picks: Rockie Moneyline +169 and Over 10 Runs
(Greg’s Handicap Rockies +147 and Total 11.4)

Atlanta Braves vs. Los Angeles Angels
Braves starting pitcher Chris Sale looks like he’s back to the former Cy Young Award-winning pitcher we all know and love, having allowed just one run in 12 innings across his first two starts after posting a 2.58 ERA with 11.8 strikeouts and 0.8 home runs per nine innings allowed last season. Angels starting pitcher Jose Soriano is also off to a great start to the season with no runs allowed across 12 innings of work, but both his appearances this season came on the road. Last season, he posted a 2.91 ERA with 0.4 home runs per nine innings allowed away from home compared to a 5.90 ERA with one home run allowed per nine innings at home.
Pick: Braves Run Line -1.5 +115
(Greg’s Handicap Braves -1.5 -114)
9:45 PM Eastern
Philadelphia Phillies vs. San Francisco Giants
Phillies pitcher Andrew Painter is making just his second career MLB start after posting a 5.65 ERA with 1.5 home runs per nine innings at the AAA level last season. Giants starting pitcher Adrian Houser had a very good 2025, supplying a 3.31 ERA with 0.7 home runs and 2.7 walks per nine innings. The bullpen behind him was fourth in the league with a 3.48 ERA. The Phillies have to adjust to an elevation change after playing a weekend series at Coors Field against the Colorado Rockies, where they scored just six runs in the final 26 innings of the series.
Pick: Giants Moneyline +100
(Greg’s Handicap Giants -125)
