Player props have become one of baseball’s most entertaining ways to bet, offering value well beyond the moneyline, run line, or game total. Each day, this column highlights the best opportunities on the board — from strikeouts and hits to total bases and pitcher outs recorded — using matchup data, recent form, and betting trends to identify edges. Keep reading for the top MLB player prop picks for April 29. Also, make sure you check out our live VSiN programming for more. Wednesday Player Prop Best Bets
Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Wednesday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record. I’ll write three up per day, but I’ll add additional ones in an “Additional Best Bets” section. That’s also where you’ll find any late adds to my card. I go way lighter on these than I do NBA/NFL/CBB/CFB/Tennis. I also take a volume approach, as I’m working with a system I have found to be successful when it comes to shopping prices. So, if you notice I’m throwing a ton of plays up on a daily basis, don’t assume I’m putting a standard unit on all of them. My MLB units are 40% of what my normal units are.
Moises Ballesteros Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+100) vs. Padres
Cubs at Padres – 4:10 pm ET
Ballesteros has recorded at least two combined hits, runs, and RBIs (HRR) in 12 of his last 17 games, and he’s averaging 2.7 HRR per game in that span. Also, when Ballesteros has gotten to go against right-handed pitching on the road this year, he’s averaging 3.7 HRR per game. That’s a very small sample size, as it only includes six games. However, the production has been out of this world. With that in mind, I’m taking a shot on Ballesteros to stay hot against Matt Waldron. Through two starts this year, Waldron has allowed 12 earned runs in 8.2 innings. He has also given up 16 hits and two homers. The matchup simply doesn’t get better for Ballesteros, who is really turning heads as Chicago’s backstop. This one is also backed up by our OptaAI projections (see below), and I found this play before even seeing those. That’s never a bad thing.
Eduardo Rodriguez Over 16.5 Outs Recorded (-115) vs. Brewers
Embed from Getty ImagesDiamondbacks at Brewers – 7:40 pm ET
Rodriguez is coming off back-to-back starts in which he has pitched only 5.0 innings for Arizona, but I think we’ll see him work a little deeper into tonight’s game. Milwaukee’s offense just hasn’t been all that dangerous to start 2026, as the team is 17th in MLB in wRC+ (97) and 28th in SLG (.356). The Brewers have also been miserable against southpaws this season, making the matchup even better for Rodriguez. The lefty will also be happy to be making this start in Milwaukee. Chase Field is one of the most hitter-friendly environments in baseball, but American Family Field is much easier on pitchers.
Jeff McNeil Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-105) vs. Royals
Royals at Athletics – 9:40 pm ET
Tonight’s Royals-Athletics game will be played in Sacramento, so the total is way up at 10.0 despite the fact that the teams have solid starters on the mound. Well, with this game expected to be higher in scoring, I like McNeil to produce at the plate. McNeil hasn’t been posting big numbers this year, as he normally hits towards the bottom of the lineup. However, he’s fully capable of hitting right-handed pitching, and this could be a game in which we see some damage done by the unusual (non-usual?) suspects. If this game is going to go Over 10.0, which sharp bettors seem to be expecting, it won’t just be the guys at the top of the order.
Additional Best Bets
Miguel Vargas Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-110) vs. Angels
Luisangel Acuna Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+135) vs. Angels

Ben Rice Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-115) vs. Rangers
Michael Massey Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+105) vs. Athletics
