Player props have become one of baseball’s most entertaining ways to bet, offering value well beyond the moneyline, run line, or game total. Each day, this column highlights the best opportunities on the board — from strikeouts and hits to total bases and pitcher outs recorded — using matchup data, recent form, and betting trends to identify edges. Wednesday Player Prop Best Bets

Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Wednesday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record. I’ll write three up per day, but I’ll add additional ones in an “Additional Best Bets” section. That’s also where you’ll find any late adds to my card. I go way lighter on these than I do NBA/NFL/CBB/CFB/Tennis. I also take a volume approach, as I’m working with a system I have found to be successful when it comes to shopping prices. My MLB units are 40% of what my normal units are.

Christian Yelich Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+118) vs. Padres

Padres at Brewers – 7:40 pm ET

Yelich just got back from a stint on the IL, so he hasn’t yet gotten himself in a rhythm out there. However, at plus-money odds, I like his chances of being one of this game’s few offensive contributors. With Jacob Misiorowski and Michael King on the mound tonight, this game understandably has a total of 7.0 at DraftKings Sportsbook. But Milwaukee is a -156 favorite in this game, and someone is going to need to do something if the Brewers are going to find a way to win. Well, Yelich hasn’t done anything against King in his career (0 for 3 with two strikeouts), but the 34-year-old has always obliterated right-handed pitching. I’ll take my chances.

Ryne Nelson Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-122) vs. Rangers

Diamondbacks at Rangers – 8:05 pm ET

The Rangers can be dangerous offensively, but they do strike out a lot. This season, only six teams have a higher strikeout rate than Texas’ 23.5%. That said, this is a pretty strong matchup if you’re looking for strikeouts out of Nelson. Well, I know Nelson has only had three starts in which he has reached the five-strikeout mark, but this could be another. Nelson also struck out seven in a meeting with the Mets on May 8, so he should be feeling pretty good coming into this one. It should also be easier for Nelson to tap into his confidence pitching on the road, as it’s not easy taking the mound in a hitter-friendly ball park like Chase Field.

Shohei Ohtani Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-115 – 1.5 units) & Alt Strikeouts 8+ (+168 – 0.5 units) & Alt Strikeouts 9+ (+320 – 0.25 units) & Alt Strikeouts 10+ (+630 – 0.1 units)

Giants at Dodgers – 10:10 pm ET

I’m playing an Ohtani strikeout ladder tonight. That starts with a big play on Ohtani to go Over 6.5 strikeouts. Ohtani has had at least seven strikeouts in four consecutive starts, and one of them came against this Giants team. He had seven strikeouts against San Francisco back on April 22, and I see that being the floor for his performance tonight. Ohtani’s other three starts in this recent four-game stretch all featured him striking out at least eight hitters, plus there’s a 10-strikeout performance mixed in there. He’s just looking borderline unhittable right now, and it’s pretty clear that winning the Cy Young is a priority for him in 2026. Well, let’s see if he can improve his odds with a big outing tonight.
