Saturday Player Prop Best Bets
Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Saturday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record. On Saturdays and Sundays, I’m going to keep these much shorter to cut down on my workload a little.
Cam Schlittler Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-160 – 1.5 units) & Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+128 – 0.5 units) vs. Blue Jays
Yankees at Blue Jays – 3:07 pm ET
Shlittler is averaging only 4.0 strikeouts per game over the last two games, but he’s averaging 6.4 Ks per game on the season. He has also had at least five strikeouts in 12 of his 14 starts. So, while this is a tough matchup, I’m ignoring the juiced odds and going Schlittler to finish with at least five strikeouts. I’m also sprinkling some 6+ at +128.
Bubba Chandler Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-104) vs. Marlins
Marlins at Pirates – 4:05 pm ET
Chandler has had at least five strikeouts in three of his last four starts, and he’s averaging 6.5 strikeouts per game in this four-game stretch. Well, with his total sitting down at 4.5 strikeouts, I don’t see any reason to pass on him to have five. The Marlins are just alright when it comes to avoiding contact. This isn’t an awful matchup.
Zack Gelof Over 1.5 Total Bases (+105) vs. Rockies
Embed from Getty ImagesRockies at Athletics – 10:05 pm ET
I want a piece of this Rockies-Athletics game, which has a total of 14.5 with the meeting taking place in Las Vegas. The ball is going to be flying out there tonight, and Gelof is the player I’m rolling with. He’s averaging 3.1 total bases per game in his last eight meetings with lefty starters, and Colorado will have Kyle Freeland on the mound tonight.
