Tuesday Player Prop Best Bets
Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Tuesday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record. I’ll write three up per day, but I’ll add additional ones in an “Additional Best Bets” section. I go lighter on baseball than I do other sports. My MLB units are 50% of what my normal units are.
Gerrit Cole Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-116 – 1.5 units) & Alt Strikeouts 7+ (+170 – 0.5 units) vs. White Sox
White Sox at Yankees – 7:05 pm ET
We haven’t had much success riding with Cole to rack up strikeouts this year, but I think we’ll see a pretty big night in the K column against Chicago. While the White Sox have been one of the best stories of the MLB season, they do struggle with strikeouts. This season, Chicago has the third-highest strikeout rate (23.8%) in baseball, and the team also has the highest whiff percentage (27.9%). That said, even with Cole not performing at his very best level, he should be able to take advantage of this matchup.
Juan Soto Over 1.5 Total Bases (-110) vs. Reds

Brady Singer will be on the mound for the Reds tonight, and he brings a 5.61 ERA into this one. Singer hasn’t looked very good for Cincinnati, and he’ll be pitching in a hitter-friendly ball park this evening. Well, that makes things interesting with Soto tonight. This year, Soto is averaging 1.9 total bases per game when facing right-handed starters, and this feels like a great spot for him to do some damage at the plate. Soto is actually 4 for 10 with a double against Singer in his career, so he has had some success against him. But let’s see if he can make him pay with some bigger cuts.
Logan Gilbert Over 6.5 Strikeouts (-125 – 1.5 units) & Alt Strikeouts 8+ (+160 – 0.5 units) vs. Orioles
Orioles at Mariners – 9:40 pm ET
On the surface, this total seems a little high for Gilbert, who is averaging 5.9 strikeouts per game. However, the righty did have eight strikeouts against the Mets two starts ago, and he has had some big performances already this season. That’s why tonight’s matchup with the Orioles is a buy spot. Baltimore has one of the highest strikeout rates (23.5%) in baseball this year, and the team was able to limit the Ks to only five in a meeting with Gilbert on June 9. Well, I don’t see the Orioles being as fortunate this time around. Gilbert should be able to find a way to miss a ton of bats this evening.
