Thursday Player Prop Best Bets

Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Thursday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record.

Byron Buxton Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-110) vs. Royals

Twins at Royals – 2:10 pm ET

The Twins-Royals game has the highest total on the board today, despite the Under being a popular public bet. That said, the Over seems like the sharp play, and I believe the Twins are the sharper side. With that in mind, I wanted to find somebody on the Minnesota roster to grab, and I ended up settling on Buxton to go Over 1.5 combined hits, runs, and RBIs at very reasonable odds. There isn’t some crazy history of success for Buxton against Cole Ragans, but he is 3 for 9 with a double against the southpaw. Buxton was also good in road games against lefties last year, averaging 2.7 HRR in 12 games — thanks to some homers. I just like the pop Buxton brings to the plate in a game like this. It’s hard to imagine this being a high-scoring affair without Buxton playing his part.

Drake Baldwin Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-136) vs. Diamondbacks

Braves at Diamondbacks – 9:40 pm ET

This season, Baldwin is averaging 3.3 combined hits, runs, and RBIs for the Braves. The lefty slugger is batting .318 with three homers and seven RBIs, and I like him to keep things rolling with a good performance against Ryne Nelson and the Diamondbacks. Last year, Baldwin batted .267 with two triples, 16 doubles, 15 homers, and 63 RBIs against right-handed pitching, averaging 2.0 HRR against righties on the season. Well, Baldwin gets a crack at a hittable righty tonight, and he gets it inside a hitter-friendly ballpark. Add all of that to the fact that Baldwin hits No. 2 in a loaded top of the Atlanta order and we should be looking at a game in which the 25-year-old is threatening at the plate.
