Odds as of Feb. 27, 10 a.m. PT

New York Red Bulls vs. New England Revolution

2:30PM EST

New York Red Bulls -130 | Draw +280 | New England Revolution +310
Total Goals: Over 2.5 (-155) | Under 2.5 (+120)

One match into the season and these two clubs are feeling very different. The New York Red Bulls are riding high off a 2-1 road victory against Orlando City. The New England Revolution are reeling from a 4-1 blowout loss in Nashville. The lone goal scorer for the Red Bulls this season is Julian Hall, a 17-year-old American who got two past the keeper in the opener. They are going to look for him to grow this season. Although the Red Bulls only scored twice in the opener, they had the highest xG (expected goals) of any team with 4.4. This offense is going to have scoring opportunities galore against a Revolution side who just allowed four goals themselves. New England only had an xG of 0.77 in their debut this season. The ML at -130 on the three-way moneyline indicates a stronger home favorite to me, I’ll take the Red Bulls to get the win at home.

Pick: New York Red Bulls ML (-130)

Colorado Rapids vs. Portland Timbers

4:30PM EST

Colorado Rapids +120 | Draw +260 | Portland Timbers +185
Total Goals: Over 2.5 (-175) | Under 2.5 (+140)

The Portland Timbers got their season started with three points thanks to an 88th minute goal in a 2-2 match against the Columbus Crew. They created a ton of big chances in the match and were deserving of the victory. Portland has an xG of 1.28 after that first match and, luckily for them, they will head on the road to face a team who almost created nothing in their opener. The Colorado Rapids went quietly to Seattle 2-0, it could have been worse if not for VAR. The Rapids put up an xG of 0.58. This match to me is about reading the three-way moneyline, when you get a home team in the +110 to +130 range I really like to back the road side. You may have to pay the juice, but let’s ride the Timbers in the double chance market.

Pick: Portland Timbers Win or Draw (-160)
