Washington Commanders vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes (over 22.5 completions -123): Over the past few weeks, we’ve really seen this Kansas City Chiefs team ramp things up in the passing game. They also benefited from Rashee Rice’s return to the lineup last week, which only gives them more reason to air it out. Through seven games, Mahomes has surpassed this number four times and is averaging 23.4 completions per game. Kansas City will also face a Washington defense that ranks 25th in the league in passing yards allowed (238.3), which should only encourage an already pass-heavy team to throw even more.
Embed from Getty ImagesMarcus Mariota (under 198.5 pass yards -112): We’ve already seen Marcus Mariota start two games this season — one against the Raiders, where he threw for 207 yards, and another against the Falcons, where he managed just 156. This week, he’ll have to play in the hostile environment of Arrowhead Stadium against one of the league’s best pass defenses. Coming into this game, the Chiefs rank 4th in opponent passing yards allowed (174.6), and most of those games have come against teams with their starting quarterbacks. The Commanders’ offense also relies on the quarterback to make plays, and Mariota isn’t as fleet-footed as he once was — and certainly not at Daniels’ level in that department.
Rashee Rice (over 6.5 receptions +115): In Rashee Rice’s first game back from injury, we saw him record 7 receptions on 10 targets, showing he’ll be a focal point of this offense moving forward. Last season, before his injury, he averaged 8 receptions per game across the 3 games he played. With a full week of practice under his belt and two touchdowns last week, Rice’s confidence should be high heading into this matchup. Plus, with the extra day of preparation, you can bet Andy Reid will scheme up even more ways to get him involved. There’s also strong value on this play at +115.
