Miami Dolphins vs. Buffalo Bills

Jahmyr Gibbs (over 89.5 rush + rec yards -111): The Lions’ offensive line has taken a little time to develop and get on the same page. They have been particularly strong in pass blocking, and I expect this line to take the next step in this matchup against the Ravens. The reason I like Jahmyr Gibbs in this spot is that Dan Campbell has stated they need to be efficient. Yes, efficiency will require spreading the ball around, but with a dynamic threat like Gibbs, he can be utilized in both the run and the pass. Just last week, Gibbs had 94 yards on the ground alone, with an additional 10 yards through the air. The majority of Detroit’s passing offense through two weeks has been passes under 10 yards, and against the Ravens’ secondary, there will be plenty of underneath throws.

Lamar Jackson (anytime touchdown +170): In the first two weeks of the Ravens’ season, Lamar Jackson has one non-passing touchdown, which came against the Bills in Week 1. Last week against Cleveland didn’t require Jackson to use his legs nearly as much as in Week 1, because the Ravens routed the Browns. This week against the Lions brings a new test against one of the best secondaries in the NFL. The Ravens will also be without Isaiah Likely, creating more opportunities for designed runs, and if necessary, Lamar will take off and run if there’s nothing in the passing game. The Lions will also likely have a defensive game plan centered on stopping Derrick Henry in the run game.

Zay Flowers (under 72.5 pass yards -114): Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers has been strong through two weeks, with 143 receiving yards in Week 1 and 75 yards in Week 2. The one issue for Flowers is this will be the strongest secondary he has faced to date, and Lamar Jackson likes spreading the ball around. Last season, Flowers went under this 72.5 mark in 10 of 17 regular season games, and I think we will see that come to fruition this week.

Jared Goff (over 23.5 completions -125): Through two games, Jared Goff has averaged 27 completions per game. He did complete 23 passes last week, but if this game turns into the dogfight people expect, Goff will need to throw the ball often. The best part about betting this is that if things break down in the passing game, Goff isn’t likely to take off and run, but rather check down, which is another easy completion. The Ravens will likely try to keep everything in front of them, as they’ve allowed several deep completions through two weeks, so I expect plenty of easy short passes from the Lions.
