I don’t have too much for the light NBA slate on Monday, February 23. So, while I normally break things down with two separate articles, I’m bringing everything under one roof instead of splitting up sides/totals and player props — a streamlined look at my favorite bets for the day’s slate. Keep reading for my NBA picks and predictions for Monday.

NBA Best Bets Today

Spurs +1.5 (-110 – 1.5 units) vs. Pistons

Spurs at Pistons – 7:00 pm ET

Tonight’s slate leaves a lot to be desired, but I can’t wait for this meeting between the Spurs and Pistons. These are two of the best teams in basketball, and both of these teams bring it every night. It also looks like both squads will be relatively healthy here, though there is one notable name on the injury report: Isaiah Stewart. The big man is still suspended for his role in the Pistons-Hornets brawl a couple of weeks ago, and I think his absence could be a big one.

The Spurs have won eight consecutive games, and they have also won their last seven by double digits. They’re absolutely rolling at the moment, and I think they’re going to give the Pistons some problems tonight. San Antonio is sixth in the NBA in rim frequency (34.4%). They’re going to be going to the basket a ton tonight, and Detroit will likely miss Stewart’s ability to defend around the rim — and that’s especially true if Jalen Duren gets into foul trouble.

On the other end of the floor, Detroit is third in the NBA in rim frequency (36.8%), but San Antonio is a top-five defense when defending the rim and guarding inside 10 feet. The length and defensive awareness of Victor Wembanyama could cause this Pistons offense to freeze up a bit.

I’ll also add that the math battle slightly favors San Antonio, as the Spurs knock down 13.0 triples per game. The Pistons only make 11.2, ranking 27th in the NBA.

It’s also worth noting that Detroit is just 2-8 straight-up when facing teams with winning percentages of 70% or better under JB Bickerstaff. This Pistons team has been extremely impressive since he took over, but they haven’t yet proven that they can consistently beat the best of the best.

NBA Player Props Today

GG Jackson Over 22.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-115)

Kings at Grizzlies – 8:00 pm ET

Over the last three games, Jackson is averaging 31.8 combined points, rebounds, and assists. Last game, in a loss to the Heat, he actually had 28 points, nine rebounds, and two dimes. While tanking is a major problem in the NBA — and undoubtedly makes life difficult on bettors — there will be some players that see increased opportunities. That could lead to profit in the props market. Well, Jackson could be a guy that’s being undervalued right now. There are minutes to go around for young Grizzlies, as the team is looking to develop guys and figure out who can be part of the future. Winning is not a priority at the moment.

If Jackson does see close to 30 minutes here, look for him to explode with another big stat line. The Kings are the league’s worst team when it comes to guarding inside 10 feet, so Jackson should be able to make use of his big body and high-level athleticism. I also see him knocking down a triple or two, and he should make a mark in the rebound and assists columns.

Additional Plays (Late Adds, Parlays, Teasers, Futures)
