I don’t have too much for the NBA slate on Wednesday, February 25. So, while I normally break things down with two separate articles, I’m bringing everything under one roof instead of splitting up sides/totals and player props — a streamlined look at my favorite bets for the day’s slate. Keep reading for my NBA picks and predictions for Wednesday.

NBA Best Bets Today
Nuggets -3.5 (-110 – 1.5 units) vs. Celtics

These are two of the best offensive teams in the league. Denver is currently No. 1 in the NBA in adjusted offensive rating (120.6), while Boston is No. 2 (119.6). The big difference between the two is that the Celtics are No. 8 in adjusted defensive rating (112.9), while the Nuggets are No. 24 (116.8). However, that difference could be made up by the situation tonight. Boston is playing its third game in four nights, plus the team is playing after having defeated Phoenix last night. The Celtics could have some tired legs, but that shouldn’t be true of the Nuggets. Denver hasn’t played since Sunday, and the team is 6-0 straight-up and 4-2 against the spread when playing with two days of rest this season.
I also think this matchup will bring out the best in the Nuggets offense. Defending Nikola Jokic is a challenge for every team in the league, but it could be especially troubling for the Celtics. I like Neemias Queta and Nikola Vucevic, but I’m not sure either can contain Jokic. Queta is a strong defensive player, but he’s prone to getting into foul trouble. Meanwhile, Vucevic is a traffic cone as an interior defender. So, if Jokic wants to be aggressive as a scorer here, he could put up some huge numbers. And if Boston sends help his way, he’ll pick the team apart as a passer.
NBA Player Props Today
Kevin Porter Jr. Over 30.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-105)
Cavaliers at Bucks – 8:00 pm ET
Porter Jr. has been on a tear recently. Over the last eight games, he’s averaging 35.5 combined points, rebounds, and assists. Porter also continues to get stronger and stronger, as he had 32 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists in a win over the Heat last night. Well, until Giannis Antetokounmpo comes back, it’s clear that Porter will be the focal point of this offense. And talented on-ball guys can give the Cavaliers fits.
While I’m very high on Cleveland, I’m not blind to the fact that the team’s perimeter defense is an issue. Having James Harden and Donovan Mitchell in the backcourt will give opposing guards opportunities to go off.
Cleveland is also a bottom-10 defense when it comes to defending above-the-break 3s, which Porter can hit somewhat frequently. I’ll also add that the Cavaliers are 23rd guarding in isolation, and Porter is a walking bucket when he’s defended on an island. That said, I’m expecting another strong game from Porter as a scorer, but I also like him to pitch in with assists and rebounds. His playmaking has been a real strength recently.
