Alec Bohm Under 1.5 Total Bases (-165 per DraftKings)

Out of the gate it looked like Alec Bohm was going to be off to a hot start, but things have tapered off since then. Bohm currently sits with a .186 batting average on 8 hits with 43 at-bats. Across this season he has only had 12 total bases, and 2 extra-base hits. This evening, going up against Michael Soroka, it’s a familiar opponent who Bohm has had success against, batting .500, but this only comes from 2 ABs of data. Soroka has been on an absolute tear to start the year, with wins in both of his first 2 starts, pitching a total of 10 innings this year, and boasting an impressive 0.9 ERA. Could Bohm still get in this one? Absolutely—but I’d anticipate his extra-base hits will be limited.

Miami Marlins vs. Detroit Tigers 6:40 PM ET

Chris Paddack Over 3.5 Strikeouts (-162 per DraftKings)

This dynamic righty, Chris Paddack, has shown some flashes of great stuff throughout his MLB career. He hasn’t had his best stuff quite yet to start the year, with an 8.31 ERA in 2 starts, but has managed to record 10 total strikeouts this season (6 in game 1; 4 in game 2). Paddack already has a K/9 of 10.38 on the season and has held a K/9 of 8.22 throughout his MLB career. This Detroit Tigers team has also struggled a bit at the dish in regard to striking out, as they currently have the 8th most strikeouts in the MLB this season with 121. Comerica Park is on the hitter-friendly side, which isn’t great, but at 3.5 being his current over/under, it’s hard to pass up.

Francisco Lindor Over 0.5 Hits (-228 per DraftKings)

Francisco Lindor hasn’t been seeing it too well to start the year, as he has just 8 hits in 51 at-bats for a batting average of .157. It does look like he may be turning a corner, as he has had at least 1 hit in 2 of his last 3 games, with multiple hits in one of them. In his home ballpark this evening, against a pitcher he has faced before in J.T. Ginn, I think we could see Lindor get a knock. The sample size isn’t great for Lindor vs. Ginn, but in 2 at-bats Lindor has a hit, so I’m hoping for something similar here tonight.

Cleveland Guardians vs. Atlanta Braves 7:15 PM ET

Mike Yastrzemski 2+ Total Bases (+158 per DraftKings)

Through 12 games this season, Mike Yastrzemski is hitting just below his career average at .211 but has managed 12 total bases. His slugging percentage is currently .316, which is well below his career average of .446, so I expect him to creep closer to that .400 slugging as we progress through the season. This evening Yastrzemski will be facing a familiar pitcher in Slade Cecconi, who he has had success against, with a .286 batting average and a 1.000 OPS in 7 at-bats. Cecconi hasn’t exactly been lights out to start the year with a 5.23 ERA, so I expect Yastrzemski to have a good day.

Washington Nationals vs. Milwaukee Brewers 7:40 PM ET

CJ Abrams Over 1.5 Hits+Runs+RBI’s (+131 per DraftKings)

Switch-hitter CJ Abrams already has 34 H+R+RBIs through 11 games played and has incredible value at +131. He will be going up against a rising star tonight in Chad Patrick, who made his MLB debut just last season, and already has a 0.96 ERA through 9.1 innings pitched this season. Abrams will also have to battle the fact that Miller Park isn’t a super hitter-friendly park. However, given his track record this season, I see no reason he can’t get over 1.5 H+R+RBIs tonight.
