Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Washington Nationals 1:05 PM ET
Luis Garcia Jr. Under 1.5 Total Bases (-178 per DraftKings)
Though we don’t have any confirmation on who the pitchers are going to be in this matchup, it is likely the Dodgers will roll out Emmett Sheehan, who didn’t exactly have his best performance to open the season. Luis Garcia Jr. has been consistent, though a little below his career average in the batting average department at .250 vs. .266. Across Garcia’s 5 hits in 20 at-bats, he has only managed to get 6 total bases, meaning only one of his hits has resulted in extra bases. As hard as it is to get a hit in the MLB, even if Garcia gets 1, it will, in all likelihood, be a single, which still keeps you under that 1.5 total bases total.
Miami Marlins vs. New York Yankees 1:35 PM ET
Xavier Edwards Over 1.5 Hits+Runs+RBI’s (-108 per DraftKings)
Switch-hitter Xavier Edwards has been on an absolute tear to begin the year, batting .409 with a .890 OPS. The one thing that’s a little interesting from Edwards is that he has yet to record an RBI this season, but with how much he’s getting on base, he will inevitably get some love in the RBI category. Will Warren will be a tough test for this Marlins lineup; however, with this being a day game, that does slightly play into the hands of the hitters in this matchup.
Philadelphia Phillies vs. Colorado Rockies 4:10 PM ET
Adolis Garcia Over 1.5 Total Bases (-122 per DraftKings)
Embed from Getty ImagesThe Phillies will be in the Mile High City to begin their series with the Rockies today, so you can expect some extra-base hits on the horizon. Outfielder Adolis Garcia has been one of the better hitters on the Phillies up to this point in the season, with a .318 batting average and a .878 OPS. He also comes into this one with 12 total bases, which is an average of 2 per game. The combination of this game being at high altitude, and it being a day game, I expect a pretty big day out of Garcia.
Atlanta Braves vs. Arizona Diamondbacks 9:45 PM ET
Grant Holmes Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-106 per DraftKings)
Now that Grant Holmes has a game under his belt, he should be ready to deal tonight against the D-backs. In his first outing he went for 5 innings, where he allowed 3 earned runs, with 2 walks, and had 4 strikeouts. Based on this season alone, he has a K/9 of 7.20, but in 2024 he had a 9.22 K/9, and just last season he had a K/9 of 9.63, so I expect him to ramp it up this evening. Holmes has a great strikeout arsenal, and the value at -106 is just too hard to pass up.
New York Mets vs. San Francisco Giants 10:15 PM ET
Nolan McLean 2 or Fewer Runs Allowed (-215 per DraftKings)
Nolan McLean had a fairly solid start in his opener this season against the Pirates, where he went for 5 innings, allowing 4 hits, and 2 earned runs. Throughout his career McLean has had an ERA of 2.21 through 9 games, and a 3.60 ERA this season. San Francisco hasn’t been the hottest team to start the season either, which should bode well for McLean this evening. The Giants are only averaging 3 runs per game, which is tied for 25th in the MLB. With this game at night as well, McLean could be set up for a great start.
