Introduction

We’re about to enter Year 8 of Josh Allen’s career, and expectations are as high as they’ve ever been. Coming off an MVP season, Allen is set to embark on another journey to overcome the ever-formidable Kansas City Chiefs. In that MVP campaign, Allen threw for 3731 yards, 28 touchdowns, and just 6 interceptions.

The Bills’ offense will look largely the same as last season, with the addition of Joshua Palmer—another weapon for Allen to utilize in the passing game. Buffalo’s offensive line was one of the top-performing units in the NFL last year, and the front office bolstered that group even further through free agency and the draft.

Buffalo’s main goal for the regular season will likely be securing the No. 1 seed in the AFC to ensure home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. Josh Allen will undoubtedly do everything in his power to achieve that, and it will be fascinating to see if he can maintain the elite level of play he displayed last year.

Let’s take a look at whether the sportsbooks believe he can sustain that greatness in 2025.

  • BetMGM: 27.5 (over -118; under -102)

As it stands now, the sportsbooks have a fairly consistent outlook for Josh Allen heading into this season. For the over on Allen’s passing yards, the best value is currently with DraftKings, while BetMGM offers the best value on the under. When it comes to passing touchdowns, FanDuel provides the most favorable odds for the over, with BetMGM again offering the best value on the under.

Out of the seven seasons Allen has played so far, he’s been the Bills’ primary starter in six of them. In those six seasons, he has averaged 4060 passing yards and roughly 31 touchdowns per year. Surprisingly, last season was Allen’s second-lowest total in both passing yards and passing touchdowns as a full-time starter. However, it’s worth noting that the wide receiver room was almost entirely new last year. With a full season and offseason together, that added continuity should prove beneficial.

Conclusion

There’s a palpable sense of pressure surrounding the Bills as they head into this season. This is a team that has come close to reaching the mountaintop but just hasn’t been able to get over the hump. They’ll undoubtedly be playing with a chip on their shoulders. Fortunately for them, they have one of the most reliable arms in the NFL, and it will be exciting to see how Josh Allen and the Bills navigate the 2025 NFL season.
