7:30 p.m. ET: Davidson vs Saint Joseph’s (-1.5, 132.5)
This is the Atlantic 10 Tournament quarterfinal.
Davidson (20-12) is the 6-seed and just outlasted Loyola Chicago 64-59 in overtime in the second round but failed to cover as 5.5-point neutral site favorites. On the other hand, Saint Joseph’s (21-10) is the 3-seed, has won six straight and just fended off La Salle 88-76 in their regular season finale, covering as 11.5-point home favorites.
This line opened with Saint Joseph’s listed as a 1.5-point neutral site favorite.
Sharps have quietly sided with the short chalk, as Saint Joseph’s is getting juiced up -1.5 (-120) with a few other books inching up to -2 or even -2.5. We have never seen this line get down to -1 or lower. In other words, all movement and liability has been on the side of the Hawks minus the points.
At DraftKings, Saint Joseph’s is receiving 75% of spread bets and 79% of spread dollars. At Circa, Saint Joseph’s is taking in 88% of spread bets and a whopping 99% of spread dollars. Both books are showing a one-way “low bets, higher dollars” sharp split in favor of the short chalk Hawks.
In an attempt to protect themselves, many pros have targeted the Hawks on the moneyline at -135.
At DraftKings, Saint Joseph’s is receiving 58% of moneyline bets and 73% of moneyline dollars, another sharp split in favor of a straight up Hawks victory.
Saint Joseph’s has the better defensive efficiency (61st vs 80th), offensive rebound percentage (156th vs 248th), free-throw shooting (140th vs 365th) and hold their opponents to a better effective field goal percentage (29th vs 126th).
The Hawks enjoy a “rest vs tired” advantage, as Saint Joseph’s last played on March 7th while Davidson is playing the second leg of a back-to-back game that also went into overtime.
8:30 p.m. ET: Southern (-3.5, 144.5) vs Florida A&M
This is the SWAC Tournament semifinal.
Southern (16-16) is the 3-seed and just held off Arkansas Pine Bluff 84-81 in the quarterfinal but failed to cover as 5.5-point neutral site favorites. Meanwhile, Florida A&M (15-15) is the 2-seed and just dismissed Jackson State 70-60 in the quarterfinal, covering as 6.5-point neutral site favorites.
This line opened with Southern listed as a 2.5-point neutral site favorite.
Sharps have jumped on Southern, driving the Jaguars up from -2.5 to -3.5.
At DraftKings, Southern is receiving 46% of spread bets and a whopping 92% of spread dollars. At Circa, Southern is taking in 60% of spread bets and 86% of spread dollars. Both book are showing a pronounced “low bets, higher dollars” sharp split in favor of the neutral chalk Jaguars.
Ken Pom has Southern winning by two points (75-73). He also has the Jaguars ranked higher (275th vs 312th).
With this in mind, bettors looking to guard against a tight game may prefer a Southern moneyline play at -160.
At DraftKings, Southern is taking in 22% of moneyline bets and 44% of moneyline dollars, further evidence of smart money backing the Jaguars to earn a straight up victory.
Southern has the better offensive efficiency (255th vs 341st), three-point shooting (108th vs 255th) and commit fewer turnovers on offense (170th vs 359th).
Southern averages 80 PPG on offensive compared to 70 PPG for Florida A&M.

On the other hand, San Diego State (21-10) is the 2-seed and just brushed aside Colorado State 71-62 in the quarterfinal, covering as 6.5-point neutral site favorites.
This line opened with San Diego State listed as a 1.5-point neutral site favorite.
Sharps have gotten down hard on the Aztecs laying short chalk, driving San Diego State up from -1.5 to -2.5.
At DraftKings, San Diego State is taking in 62% of spread bets and 72% of spread dollars, a “low bets, higher dollars” sharp split in indicating slight public support but also respected sharp action in their favor.
Ken Pom has San Diego State winning by one point (76-75). He also has the Aztecs ranked slightly higher (46th vs 49th).
As a result, many pros have elected to protect themselves by playing San Diego State on the moneyline at -140.
At DraftKings, San Diego State is receiving 75% of moneyline bets and 82% of moneyline dollars, further evidence of heavy one-way action in favor of a straight up Aztecs victory.
San Diego State has the better defensive efficiency (18th vs 43rd), limit their opponents to a better effective field goal percentage (48th vs 90th), force more turnovers on defense (16th vs 47th) and limit their opponents to a better two-point shooting percentage (20th vs 260th).
