The Cardinals (66-69) just split a four-game series against the Pirates, winning yesterday’s series finale 4-1 as -120 home favorites. Meanwhile, the Reds (68-66) just got swept by the Dodgers, dropping the series finale 5-1 as +145 road dogs.

In tonight’s series opener, the Cardinals hand the ball to lefty Matthew Liberatore (6-11, 4.27 ERA) and the Reds go with righty Zack Littell (9-8, 3.62 ERA).

This line opened with Cincinnati listed as a -120 home favorite and St. Louis a +100 road dog.

Sharps have pounced on the Reds laying short chalk at home, steaming Cincinnati up from -120 to -135.

At DraftKings, the Reds are taking in 74% of moneyline bets and 83% of moneyline dollars. At Circa, Cincinnati is taking in 81% of moneyline bets and over 90% of moneyline dollars. Both books are showing a “low bets, higher dollars” Pro and Joe bet split in favor of the home team.

The Reds enjoy a “rest vs tired” advantage, as Cincinnati was off yesterday while the Cardinals played the Pirates. Cincinnati also features buy-low, sell-high betting system value as a favorite on a losing streak facing a team off a win.

Littell has a 3.92 ERA in four starts since joining the Reds, allowing 9 earned runs in 20.2 innings pitched. Meanwhile, Liberatore has posted a 5.40 ERA in five August starts, giving up 13 earned runs in 21.1 innings pitched.

The Reds are 36-29 at home. The Cardinals are 29-37 on the road.

7:10 p.m. ET: Miami Marlins at New York Mets (-180, 7.5)

The Marlins (63-71) stole last night’s series opener 7-4, coming through as massive +215 road dogs.

In tonight’s rematch, the Marlins start righty Eury Perez (6-3, 3.44 ERA) and the Mets (72-62) send out fellow righty Jonah Tong, who is making his MLB debut. Tong has posted a 10-5 record with a 1.43 ERA in the minors this season.

This line opened with New York listed as a -160 home favorite and Miami a +140 road dog.

Sharps are expecting the Mets to bounce back with a win, steaming New York up from -160 to -180.

At DraftKings, the Mets are taking in 78% of moneyline bets and 93% of moneyline dollars. At Circa, New York is taking in 46% of moneyline bets and 91% of moneyline dollars. Both books are showing a “low bets, higher dollars” sharp bet discrepancy in favor of the home team.

New York has correlative betting value as a favorite in a low total game (7.5), with the fewer amount of expected runs scored more likely to come from the “better” team who is expected to win.

Perez has posted a 4.42 ERA on the road compared to 2.25 at home.

The Mets have the more explosive bats, hitting 178 homers and scoring 622 runs compared to the Marlins hitting 128 homers and scoring 574 runs.

New York is 44-25 at home. Miami is 32-34 on the road.

7:10 p.m. ET: Pittsburgh Pirates at Boston Red Sox (-115, 8)

The Pirates (59-76) just split a four-game series against the Cardinals, losing the series finale 4-1 as +100 road dogs. On the other hand, the Red Sox (75-60) just swept the Orioles, winning the series finale 3-2 as -200 road favorites.

In tonight’s Interleague series opener, the Pirates go with righty Paul Skenes (8-9, 2.07 ERA) and the Red Sox turn to lefty Payton Tolle, who is making his MLB debut. Tolle has gone 3-5 with a 3.04 ERA in the minors this season.

This line opened at roughly a pick’em, with both sides listed around -110 odds.

Sharps have quietly sided with the Red Sox at a coin-flip price, pushing Boston up from -110 to -115.

At DraftKings, the Red Sox are taking in 59% of moneyline bets but 76% of moneyline dollars. At Circa, Boston is receiving 45% of moneyline bets and 67% of moneyline dollars. Both books are showing a notable “low bets, higher dollars” sharp bet split in favor of the home team.

Boston has a big edge at the plate, hitting .252 with 163 homers and 668 runs scored compared to Pittsburgh hitting .233 with 98 homers and 484 runs scored.

The Pirates are hitting just .219 against lefties this season, ranking 29th in MLB.

Meanwhile, the Red Sox are hitting .261 at home, ranking 7th in MLB.

The Red Sox have a notable edge in the bullpen, sporting a 3.37 team ERA (3rd best in MLB) compared to 4.12 for the Pirates.

Boston is 41-25 at home. Pittsburgh is 20-46 on the road.
