Friday Player Prop Best Bets

Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Friday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record.

Jarrett Allen Over 15.5 Points (-101) vs. Hornets

Cavaliers at Hornets – 7:00 pm ET

Since James Harden arrived in Cleveland, Allen is averaging 21.8 points per game. Allen was also on his way to another big night last night, scoring 15 points in only 24 minutes in a 28-point win over the Nets. If that game was a little closer, Allen easily could have exceeded the 20-point mark again.

Life is just incredibly easy on Allen now, as Harden is one of the best pick-and-roll passers in basketball. Donovan Mitchell is also good at using his scoring gravity to spoon feed his bigs easy buckets.

Tonight, we really should see another solid performance from Allen. The Hornets will be missing Moussa Diabate, who is the team’s best — and most energetic — center. I also wouldn’t be stunned if Evan Mobley sits tonight, as Cleveland might not want to risk him re-injuring his calf. Last night’s game wasn’t taxing, but second legs of back-to-backs can always be tricky.

Bam Adebayo Over 28.5 Points + Rebounds (-122) vs. Hawks

Heat at Hawks – 7:30 pm ET

The Hawks are a bottom-10 team when looking at offensive and defensive rebounds allowed, so I’d expect Adebayo to be extremely impactful on the glass this evening. Atlanta just lacks size inside right now, even though the team is big across the board. That should help Adebayo, an undersized big himself, do more dirty work than usual.

Adebayo should also thrive as a scorer in this one. The Hawks are 24th in the NBA guarding at the rim, where Adebayo scores 30% of his points. Atlanta also struggles to defend PnR bigs. Adebayo should do some damage as a play-finisher, and he also isn’t shy about letting 3s fly anymore.

Adebayo was also putting up massive numbers before the break. He had gone Over 28.5 combined points and rebounds in 12 of his previous 13 games, and he was averaging 32.9 combined points and boards in that span.

Kevin Porter Jr. Over 7.5 Assists (+115) vs. Pelicans

Bucks at Pelicans – 8:00 pm ET

I have enjoyed firing away on Bucks props this year, as some of these players post big numbers when Giannis Antetokounmpo is off the floor. Well, the Greek Freak is still out for the Bucks, so there will be opportunities to go around on Friday. I like Porter Jr. to take advantage.

Porter is averaging 8.4 assists per game when playing without Antetokounmpo this season, and he had nine dimes in a Giannis-less game against the Pelicans on February 4. I just like him to apply consistent rim pressure here, and I think he’ll be able to find his guys some good opportunities to score.

New Orleans is a bottom-five defense when it comes to guarding at the rim, defending spot-up jumpers, and getting back in transition. That means Porter should be able to find quality looks for his teammates. We’ll just need them to cash in.
