BEST BET: Sparkley Barkley (4th race)
Fourth Race
1. Sparkley Barkley
2. Earl’s Girl
3. Joyriding
SPARKLEY BARKLEY ran OK off the layoff and is more likely than not to improve second off it. This filly cuts back a half furlong and her distance Tommy of 410 likes that. Second time Lasix is often better for the girls. Class drop is noted. EARL’S GIRL is by a 0 for 5 debut sire. Her dam went 5-1-0-0 and earned 12K. Of 8 sibs to race, 6 won. Works are OK and the price might entice. JOYRIDING exits the key common race where 2 of 8 returned to win with figs of 43 and 29. Lopez gets a leg up and is 23% for this barn. MYSTIC SKYE is by a 12% debut sire. Her dam was un-raced. Lone sib is 5-0-0-1 and earned 4K. ANGEL’S EFFORT and HOT SUMMER BREEZE exit the key common race where 2 of 5 returned to win with figs of 53 and 36.

Here are Scott’s thoughts on the other seven races on Tuesday’s Turf Paradise card.
First Race
1. Av Tornadoe Warning
2. Goodbye Tyme
3. Corazon Stoli
Quarter horses.
Second Race
1. Mr. Matic
2. Court of Appeal
3. Saint Benji
MR. MATIC just wins while versatile style helps with that. Second time here is a plus while recent work sharp. June bred is still maturing. COURT OF APPEAL did get a 65 Beyer when he broke his maiden. His return try was an even effort that should set him up on the stretch-out. Wait…this guy sticks with sprinting? Perhaps connections wanted a local start before adding distance. SAINT BENJI is a hard trier with figs going in the right direction. His most recent had him last at the break and we gotta figure that cost him the W. Alas, he draws the rail again. Race flow is average for this small field.
Third Race
1. Where’s the Loot
2. Devil Among Us
3. Desperate Man
WHERE’S THE LOOT is feeling great and gets a fast pace to chase. What if added distance actually helps? This guy has hit the exacta in 2 of 3 starts when going 5 1/2 panels. In fact, his Beyer top of 78 came going this far. A good chance this guy gets lost on the tote due to Los Al mixed breed lines (that is quarter horse and T-breds). DEVIL AMONG US just won when first out for team Diodoro and got a solid 76 Beyer in the process. Connections find a good spot but now this 6YO can be claimed unlike his most recent. DESPERATE MAN just ran a little better and has hit the exacta on this dirt in four of six starts. That stalking trip from three back would be a good trip if duplicated.

Fifth Race
1. Flyin By
2. Smiling Lady
3. Lula Bella
FLYIN BY won going this distance only two back and that was while shipping in from New York. This mare loves a shortened sprint at 8-3-3-0. Her most recent wasn’t as good but there is a reason why horses are at this level and consistency is not one of them. Class drop and half furlong cut back go hand in hand. SMILING LADY has some speed and draws outside. Second out for new barn can’t hurt. This mare is just better of late and it came with the surface switch. LULA BELLA has speed and adds a half furlong. She likes to win in general compared to the place/show. Jock switch is noted.

1. Barbies Fury
2. May Surprise
3. Golden Midnight
BARBIES FURY tried two turns and the turf both for the first time off the layoff and only beat one home. Oh, that was her first start here. Now she goes second time everything except for the turf. Class drop for a good barn should make a world of difference. MAY SURPRISE did run a little better last out while never threatening the winner. This filly puts three races together and drops in class. Her turf breeding is only OK so time to find out if she likes the dirt. Team Rarick are 38% going turf to dirt. GOLDEN MIDNIGHT tries a route of ground for the first time. We are all for anything different at this level. Form cycle hints at better.
Seventh Race
1. Silver Dash
2. Enos Slaughter
3. Outofquemado
SILVER DASH just ran much better and did so on the stretch-out. His tactical speed comes in handy with this outside post. Show bettors should note that this guy has cashed in 7 of 10 tries going this far. ENOS SLAUGHTER has now run well in three straight. Second time on this dirt can’t hurt. Race flow is fine and the price should be the same. OUTOFQUEMADO gets to save all the early ground. This closer gets some pace to chase if all stay in. Current form is just fine.
Eighth Race
1. Sweet Beth
2. Mini Again
3. Screaming Virginia
SWEET BETH took nine starts to break her maiden but what if she got a taste of winning and liked it? At the least, we often see these types return to out run their odds. This barn has a flat bet profit with their repeating winners. MINI AGAIN was sent off at 20-1 in her most recent as she tried winners for the first time. Hey, she beat over half the field home. These are easier. SCREAMING VIRGINIA has the best figs and drops in class. The one to beat.
