Washington Nationals vs. Cleveland Guardians 6:10 PM ET
Cade Cavalli Under 4.5 Strikeouts (+118 per DraftKings)
The Washington Nationals come into game two of their series against the Cleveland Guardians riding a three-game winning streak after dismantling Cleveland 10-2 yesterday. Tonight, Washington turns to Cade Cavalli, who has quietly put together a respectable season overall.
Cavalli enters this matchup with a 3.86 ERA, a 1.43 WHIP, and 61 strikeouts across 53.2 innings pitched, good for an impressive 10.23 K/9. Despite the strong strikeout rate on paper, his game logs have been very inconsistent in the strikeout department. In his 11 starts this season, he has gone under 4.5 strikeouts in five of them, often alternating between dominant swing-and-miss outings and starts where he struggles to put hitters away.
Tonight’s matchup also works against his strikeout upside. Cleveland has been one of the toughest teams in baseball to fan this season, currently ranking with the 5th fewest strikeouts in MLB at just 417. The Guardians lineup consistently puts balls in play and forces pitchers to work deep into counts rather than chasing strikeouts.
Given Cavalli’s inconsistency in the K department and the plus-money value attached to this prop, this feels like a strong opportunity to fade the strikeout total tonight.
Atlanta Braves vs. Boston Red Sox 6:45 PM ET

Austin Riley got off to a rocky start this season, but he has looked much more like himself throughout the month of May. Riley is currently batting .272 with a .481 slugging percentage this month and has surpassed 1.5 total bases in 3 of his last 5 games.
He also comes into tonight’s matchup red hot after collecting 5 hits in 10 at-bats during Atlanta’s most recent series against Washington.
Tonight the Atlanta Braves open a new series against the Boston Red Sox, who are expected to send former Phillies left-hander Ranger Suárez to the mound. Since Suarez spent years pitching within the NL East, many Braves hitters have seen him extensively, and Riley has been one of Atlanta’s most successful bats against him.
Across his career against Suarez, Riley owns a .346 batting average with a .991 OPS, consistently squaring him up for hard contact. With Riley finally heating up offensively and drawing a favorable matchup against a familiar arm, this sets up as another strong spot for him to rack up extra bases tonight.
Miami Marlins vs. Toronto Blue Jays 7:07 PM ET
Sandy Alcantara Under 18.5 Outs Recorded (-162 per DraftKings)
Sandy Alcántara has not looked quite as dominant this season as he has during some of his peak years. Entering tonight’s matchup against the Toronto Blue Jays, Alcantara owns a 4.00 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP across 69.2 innings pitched.
Early in the year, Alcantara was consistently working deep into games, posting outings of 7.0, 9.0, and 8.1 innings in his first three starts. Since then, opposing lineups have adjusted much better to him, forcing longer at-bats and driving his pitch counts up much earlier in games.
The recent trends are particularly concerning. Throughout the month of May, Alcantara has not completed more than 6.0 innings in a single outing, and in 8 of his 11 starts this season, he has stayed under the 18.5 outs recorded mark.
Toronto also profiles as a difficult matchup for him. The Blue Jays rank 6th in MLB in batting average against right-handed pitching at .252, and they consistently pressure starters early in games with contact-heavy approaches.
With Alcantara struggling to pitch deep into games recently and Toronto matching up well against righties, this feels like another outing where he falls short of pitching into the seventh inning.
Cincinnati Reds vs. New York Mets 7:10 PM ET
New York Mets Under 3.5 Runs (-135 per DraftKings)
The New York Mets continue to struggle offensively, failing to score more than 3.5 runs in each of their last five games. Things do not get any easier tonight with elite young arm Chase Burns taking the mound for the Cincinnati Reds.
Burns has been absolutely dominant this season, carrying a 1.83 ERA, a 0.95 WHIP, and 64 strikeouts through 59 innings pitched. His recent form has been even better, as he owns a microscopic 0.72 ERA during the month of May while allowing just two earned runs the entire month.
Adding to the challenge for New York is the fact that none of the current Mets hitters have seen Burns at the MLB level before. Facing a pitcher with premium stuff and no prior familiarity often creates a difficult adjustment period for opposing lineups.
Between the Mets’ continued offensive struggles, ongoing injury concerns, and the dominant form Burns has displayed recently, this shapes up as another difficult night offensively for New York.
Philadelphia Phillies vs. San Diego Padres 9:40 PM ET
Brandon Marsh Over 0.5 Hits (-191 per DraftKings)
Brandon Marsh has quietly been one of the most consistent hitters in the Philadelphia Phillies lineup this season. Marsh enters tonight batting .318 with an .824 OPS, both comfortably above his career averages.
The month of May has been especially productive for him, as he owns a .338 batting average alongside a .463 slugging percentage. He has recorded a hit in 4 of his last 5 games and in 7 of his last 10 overall.
Tonight Philadelphia faces Randy Vásquez and the San Diego Padres. Marsh has already faced Vasquez once previously and recorded a hit in his lone at-bat.
The splits also strongly favor Marsh here, as he has crushed right-handed pitching this season to the tune of a .329 batting average and a .500 slugging percentage. Given his consistency at the plate and the favorable matchup against a righty tonight, Marsh looks well-positioned to once again find the hit column early in this game.
