Atlanta Braves vs. Cincinnati Reds 6:40 PM ET

Grant Holmes Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-105 per DraftKings)

Atlanta Braves right-hander Grant Holmes is coming off his best strikeout performance of the season, punching out 10 Nationals hitters in his last outing. Interestingly, that was also his only start this year where he surpassed the 5.5 strikeout mark, which may make this play seem a bit risky at first glance.

The matchup, however, is what makes this number attractive. Holmes will be facing a Cincinnati lineup that continues to be one of the most strikeout-prone offenses in baseball. The Reds currently rank 6th in MLB in total strikeouts with 510, despite having played fewer games than every team ahead of them.

Holmes has shown flashes of swing-and-miss stuff throughout the season, and against a lineup that consistently expands the zone and racks up strikeouts, this feels like another opportunity for him to generate plenty of whiffs. If he can work efficiently enough to get through six innings, the strikeout opportunities should be there all night.

James Wood Over 1.5 Total Bases (+121 per DraftKings)

The Washington Nationals open a home series against the Padres tonight, and one of the hottest hitters in baseball right now is James Wood.

Over his last seven games, Wood is batting .458 with a .792 slugging percentage, and he has eclipsed the 1.5 total bases mark in three of his last five contests and six of his last ten overall.

Tonight he draws a matchup against Lucas Giolito, whom he has faced before. While Wood went hitless in two at-bats, he also drew a walk, showing he was able to track Giolito’s pitches effectively.

Wood has been especially dangerous against right-handed pitching this season, batting .293 with a .593 slugging percentage, and he has been even better at home, where he owns a .310 batting average and a .640 slugging percentage.

With the way he’s swinging the bat and the plus-money value attached to this prop, this sets up as another strong spot for the Nationals’ young star.

Miami Marlins vs. New York Mets 7:10 PM ET

Freddy Peralta Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-148 per DraftKings)

Just days after facing one another in Miami, the Marlins and Mets meet again tonight in Queens, with Freddy Peralta getting another crack at the Marlins lineup.

The last time these teams met on May 23, Peralta was dominant, striking out nine batters across seven innings of work. He has now surpassed 5.5 strikeouts in seven of his eleven starts this season.

While Miami sits closer to the middle of the league in strikeouts, there seems to be a particularly favorable matchup between Peralta’s pitch mix and this Marlins lineup. His ability to generate swings and misses with his fastball-slider combination has consistently given Miami problems.

Pitching at home should only help matters, and if Peralta works deep into the game once again, another six-plus strikeout performance feels well within reach.

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Los Angeles Dodgers 10:15 PM ET

Zack Wheeler Over 17.5 Outs Recorded (-158 per DraftKings)

After an off day for travel, the Phillies head west to begin a marquee weekend series against the Dodgers, with ace Zack Wheeler taking the ball tonight.

Wheeler has been outstanding since returning from shoulder surgery, posting a 1.67 ERA, a 0.82 WHIP, and 36 strikeouts in 37.2 innings pitched.

While several Dodgers hitters have seen Wheeler throughout their careers, he has generally held his own against this lineup, and it is worth noting that he has not faced Los Angeles since 2024. Both Wheeler and the Dodgers lineup have evolved considerably since then.

Perhaps the most important trend for this prop is workload. Wheeler has recorded at least 18 outs in every start this season except his first one back, showing that the Phillies have steadily increased his workload as he has regained form.

With his efficiency, command, and ability to pitch deep into games, Wheeler looks well-positioned to clear the 17.5 outs mark once again in what should be one of the premier pitching matchups of the evening.
