After a slow start to the season, Trea Turner appears to be finding his rhythm at the plate. Over his last seven games, Turner is batting .276 with a .483 slugging percentage and enters today’s matchup riding a four-game hitting streak. While he hasn’t been piling up total bases consistently throughout the year, he has accumulated 13 total bases across the five games the Phillies have played against the Padres going back to last week.
Today’s matchup also sets up favorably for Turner, as he’ll face Lucas Giolito, a pitcher he has historically handled well. In seven career at-bats against Giolito, Turner owns a .429 batting average, a 1.786 OPS, and two home runs. Giolito is still working his way back into form, as this will be just his fourth start of the season. In his most recent outing against the Nationals, he lasted only 2.2 innings while allowing five hits and four earned runs.
Turner has also performed better at Citizens Bank Park this season and has generally been more productive against right-handed pitching. With a favorable matchup against a pitcher, he’s had success against in the past, this feels like a strong opportunity for Turner to extend his hitting streak and collect multiple total bases along the way.

Chris Sale Over 18.5 Outs Recorded (+104 per DraftKings)
Chris Sale is coming off an outstanding month of May, posting a 1.69 ERA with 42 strikeouts across 32.0 innings. Throughout the month, he consistently worked deep into games, regularly sitting between 96 and 102 pitches, and reached at least seven innings in three of his five starts.
While Sale has cleared 18.5 outs in only four of his 11 starts this season, that limited hit rate is a big reason why this prop is currently available at plus money. The matchup itself offers several encouraging signs.
Toronto has struggled mightily against left-handed pitching this season, carrying a .213 team batting average against southpaws, the third-lowest mark in Major League Baseball. If Sale is locating his pitches effectively, he should be able to generate weak contact and keep his pitch count manageable.
The Blue Jays are also not a particularly strikeout-heavy lineup, which can actually work in Sale’s favor for this prop. Their tendency to put balls in play early in counts could help him work efficiently and navigate deeper into the game. Given his recent form, workload, and matchup advantages, Sale has a strong opportunity to record at least 19 outs and cash this plus-money ticket.
