Dallas Cowboys

Over those 5 seasons, the Cowboys sustained a record of 46-42-0 (52.3%) ATS, putting them at the top of the NFC East. One of the notable things about the Cowboys’ ATS record over this time is that there are numerous trends to point to that have led to them covering over 50% of their games. Some of the most significant trends for the Cowboys maintaining a positive cover rate are their games as an away favorite: 13-6-0 record (68.4%), games with a rest advantage: 12-6-0 record (66.7%), games with a rest disadvantage: 8-5-0 (61.5%), and games within the NFC East: 18-12-0 (60%). The only trend to note where the Cowboys struggled to cover over this span is when they were an away underdog, as they posted a record of 10-13-0 (43.5%).
New York Giants
Coming out of the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, New Jersey, the New York Football Giants have held the worst record ATS since 2020 in the NFC East, with a record of 42-43-1 (49.4%). While this was the worst ATS record in the NFC East, it wasn’t by much, as they were just one cover shy of a 50% rate, but the unfortunate part is there aren’t many strong trends on either side that led to this outcome. The one trend worth noting where the Giants have been solid in covering is in games played with a rest disadvantage, as they’ve posted a 10-6-1 record (62.5%) over this span. There have also only been 2 trends of real significance where New York has struggled, which are in games as the favorite: 3-7-0 record (30%), and in games where the opponent had equal rest: 23-29-0 (44.2%). All other trends either lack a significant sample size or are very close to 50%, so it seems the sportsbooks are pretty sharp with the G-Men.
Philadelphia Eagles
Since 2020, the Philadelphia Eagles have obviously been a very strong team, but they certainly haven’t been the easiest spread to bet, as they, along with the Denver Broncos, are the only teams to maintain exactly a 50% cover rate (45-45-3). Over this period, there have been several trends to account for on both ends of the spectrum. The trends to note where the Eagles have covered the most are in games as the home favorite: 20-14-2 record (58.8%), and games following a win: 30-24-3 (55.6%). There have been more trends where the Eagles were the team to fade, such as games following a loss: 11-19-0 (36.7%), games as an away favorite: 10-16-1 (38.5%), and games with a rest disadvantage: 7-11-0 (38.9%). One thing to note for the Eagles is they had the best ATS record last season, so I’m sure we’ll see a shift from sportsbooks going into this year.
Washington Commanders

Over the course of 88 games, the Commanders hold a record of 42-41-5 (50.6%), and like the Eagles, last season certainly boosted their percentage, as they posted a 12-7-1 (63.2%) ATS record. The trends where the Commanders have covered most consistently are in games following a win: 23-13-2 record (63.9%), games with equal rest: 29-21-3 record (58%), and games outside the division: 30-24-3 record (55.6%). There are also a few areas where the Commanders have struggled a fair bit in covering the spread, particularly in games with a rest advantage: 6-11-1 record (35.3%), games within the division: 12-17-2 record (41.4%), and games following a loss: 17-24-3 record (41.5%).
