Rays starting pitcher Shane McClanahan has opened the season strong with a 2.82 ERA with 9.5 strikeouts and 0.4 home runs per nine innings. He faces an Orioles lineup that is fourth in scoring at home with 4.7 runs per game. Orioles starting pitcher Kyle Bradish has a 4.13 ERA with 4.8 walks per nine innings allowed. Bradish is backed up by a bullpen that is 26th in ERA at 4.76. He faces a Rays lineup that is seventh in overall run creation with 4.8 runs per game.

Washington Nationals vs. Cleveland Guardians

The Nationals lead the league in scoring with 5.4 runs per game. They send Zack Littell to the mound in either a starting or bulk role, as he has a 5.83 ERA and a higher 7.34 fielding independent with only 4.5 strikeouts per nine innings with 2.9 home runs per nine innings allowed. Guardians starting pitcher Tanner Bibee has a 3.75 ERA with 7.8 strikeouts and 3.2 walks per nine innings. He is supported by a bullpen that is 13th in ERA at 3.69. The Nationals are 26th with a 4.79 bullpen ERA.

Picks: Guardians Run Line -1.5 +125 Over 8 Runs

(Greg’s Handicap Guardians -1.5 +1o4 and Total 8.6)

Phillies starting pitcher Jesus Luzardo has pitched better than his 4.85 ERA would indicate with 10.7 strikeouts and 0.8 home runs per nine innings allowed and a 2.86 fielding independent. Padres starting pitcher Randy Vasquez has a 2.96 ERA with 0.8 home runs and 2.6 walks per nine innings. He faces a Phillies lineup that is 24th in road scoring with 3.9 runs per game. The Padres bullpen is sixth in ERA at 3.20, while the Phillies are 16th with a 3.99 ERA.

Pick: Padres Moneyline +112

(Greg’s Handicap Padres -114)

9:10 PM Eastern

Colorado Rockies vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland has had a rough start to the season, posting a 7.04 ERA with 2.1 home runs and 3.3 walks per nine innings allowed. He faces a Dodgers lineup that is third in scoring with 5.2 runs per game. Dodgers starting pitcher Emmet Sheehan has also had struggles with a 4.93 ERA this season and is allowing 1.8 home runs per nine innings.

Pick: Rockies vs. Dodgers Over 8.5 Runs

(Greg’s Handicapped Total 9.3)

9:40 PM Eastern

Seattle Mariners vs. Athletics

Mariners starting pitcher Luis Castillo has struggled this season, posting a 6.41 ERA with 1.4 home runs and 3.5 walks per nine innings. He will likely have Bryce Miller piggyback off of him, who has allowed just two runs in 11 innings in his two starts this season after starting the season on the injured list. Miller has struggled throughout his career on the road, posting a lifetime 3.26 ERA with 1.1 home runs per nine innings allowed at home compared to a 4.73 ERA with just under 1.5 home runs per nine innings allowed away from home. Athletics starting pitcher Aaron Civale has a 3.32 ERA this season. While his fielding independent of 4.91 with 1.6 home runs per nine innings point towards regression, he gets to face a Mariners offense that is 24th in scoring with four runs per game.

Picks: Athletics Moneyline +101 and Under 10 Runs

(Greg’s Handicap Athletics -133 and Total 9.2)
