Player props have become one of baseball’s most entertaining ways to bet, offering value well beyond the moneyline, run line, or game total. Each day, this column highlights the best opportunities on the board — from strikeouts and hits to total bases and pitcher outs recorded — using matchup data, recent form, and betting trends to identify edges. Keep reading for the top MLB player prop picks for April 30. Also, make sure you check out our live VSiN programming for more. Thursday Player Prop Best Bets
Below you’ll find my official plays on the player prop market for Thursday. These are the ones that make the VSiN Pro Picks page and count towards my season-long record. I’ll write three up per day, but I’ll add additional ones in an “Additional Best Bets” section. That’s also where you’ll find any late adds to my card. I go way lighter on these than I do NBA/NFL/CBB/CFB/Tennis. I also take a volume approach, as I’m working with a system I have found to be successful when it comes to shopping prices. So, if you notice I’m throwing a ton of plays up on a daily basis, don’t assume I’m putting a standard unit on all of them. My MLB units are 40% of what my normal units are.
Freddy Peralta Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-116) vs. Nationals
Nationals at Mets – 1:10 pm ET
Peralta has had at least six strikeouts in four of his six starts this season. The righty is also coming off an eight-strikeout performance against the Rockies. Peralta is just starting to get comfortable after a rough start to the season. Since giving up four earned on six hits in 5.0 innings against the Pirates in his first start of the year, he has brought his ERA down to 3.90 and his swing-and-miss stuff has been excellent. Well, the Nationals have a strikeout rate of 22.0% this season. That’s not a terrible number, but it’s not great either. And last year, Peralta had seven strikeouts in his only start against Washington.
Noah Cameron Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-115) vs. Athletics
Athletics at Royals – 3:05 pm ET
Cameron is coming off a six-strikeout performance against the Angels, and he has now racked up at least five strikeouts in three of his five starts this season. Well, I like Cameron to make it four of six later today. The Athletics have the fifth-highest strikeout rate (25.3%) in baseball to start the 2026 season, making this a very strong matchup for the southpaw. The only thing I’m a little nervous about is Cameron getting chased a little earlier than normal with this game being played in a very hitter-friendly ballpark. But there’s not a lot of juice here, so I’m willing to take a shot.
Kody Clemens Over 0.5 Total Bases (-135) vs. Blue Jays
Blue Jays at Twins – 7:40 pm ET
Embed from Getty ImagesClemens has had at least one total base in nine of the last 13 games. He has also gone Over this total in nine of his last 11 games against right-handed starters. Of course, the righty that will be on the mound for Toronto is a good one, as Kevin Gausman will be toeing the rubber. However, Gausman has been a little worse when taking his act on the road this season, and he’s not getting any younger. Gausman’s velocity is down from last year, and he’s not getting as much spin on his pitches. He could be due for some regression, whether that happens now or later. That said, this might not be as tough of a matchup as it might seem, and Clemens’ total is just super low and reasonably priced.
