New York Mets vs. Chicago Cubs 2:20 PM ET

Francisco Alvarez Over 0.5 Hits (-183 per DraftKings)
It seems like Francisco Alvarez is the only player on this Mets team at the moment with any consistency. New York is on the verge of losing 10 straight games and has to face Jameson Taillon on the mound today. Alvarez has seen success against Taillon over the years, as he has hit .600 against him, with a 2.000 OPS. This season Alvarez has a .294 batting average and has recorded a hit in 3 of his last 5 games, as well as 7 of his last 10. There are no bets safe with this Mets team at the moment, but the most consistent bat has been Alvarez, so I will be riding with him this afternoon.

San Francisco Giants vs. Washington Nationals 4:05 PM ET

Cade Cavalli Under 3.5 Strikeouts (+105 per DraftKings)

It has been a slow start for Cade Cavalli in regard to strikeouts, as he only has 13 in his 4 starts this year. In his 3 starts this month he recorded 3, 3, and 2 in each respective game, and is going up against one of the least struck-out teams today in the San Francisco Giants. On the season the Giants are tied for the 4th fewest strikeouts of any team with 150, which comes out to 7.5 per game. Cavalli has pitched 15.2 innings this season, which is 3.8 innings per game. If the Giants can get him out early again, the under on Cavalli strikeouts is a great value bet, especially at +105.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Miami Marlins 4:10 PM ET

Miami Marlins Team Total Over 3.5 Runs (-115 per DraftKings)

The Miami Marlins find themselves on a 3-game skid at the moment but have still managed to get some runs across the plate. They’ve managed to get over 3.5 runs in 3 of their last 5 games and will be facing a familiar arm in Brandon Woodruff on the mound today. 4 batters in the Marlins lineup have over a .500 average against Woodruff, and they have the benefit of playing in their home park this evening. They will also have an added morale boost of having their ace on the mound, Sandy Alcantara, setting up for what should be a productive game.

Combined Under 0.5 1st Inning Runs (-175 per DraftKings)

Atlanta took the first game of this Braves-Phillies series in a dominant 9-0 performance. Both teams have their aces on the mound with Chris Sale and Christopher Sanchez. Chris Sale has had 2 no-run first innings this season, while Sanchez hasn’t had any up to this point, though at no fault to him, as he hasn’t allowed a run in 3 of 4 first innings; the Phillies have just scored in all 4 of those games in the first inning. Both of these guys will be amped up for their first games of the year in this series, so I expect them both to have their stuff going early, allowing for this no-runs first inning today.
