Miami Marlins vs. Los Angeles Dodgers 3:10 PM ET
Miami Marlins Over 3.5 Total Runs (+105 per DraftKings)
The Miami Marlins came away with an impressive win last night against the Dodgers, in a grueling pitching duel that ended in 2-1 fashion. Things don’t get much easier today, as the Dodgers have Tyler Glasnow on the mound, but it will be a day game in sunny California.
The wind direction will be going toward right field, which is a huge advantage for lefties going up against a strong right-handed arm. Though Glasnow has been really strong to start the year, the Marlins order has had success against him in the past, with 5 players hitting over .230 against him, and 3 guys with over a .300 average against him.
Miami has managed to score north of 3.5 runs in 5 of their last 10 games, and has already done so once in this Dodgers series. With it being a day game, I think we’ll see a decent amount of runs out of this Marlins lineup.
San Francisco Giants vs. Philadelphia Phillies 6:40 PM ET
Kyle Schwarber Over 1.5 Total Bases (+113 per DraftKings)
Last night definitely wasn’t Kyle Schwarber’s best day at the plate, but he still managed to generate 2 walks, and a run. Tonight, he will see a familiar face in Logan Webb, who he has had success against, with a .333 batting average and a 1.262 OPS in 6 at-bats.
Webb hasn’t been quite as good as he has been in the past this season, as he has allowed a combined 19 hits in his last 3 starts. His ERA is also up this year at 4.86, compared to his career ERA of 3.43. Given Webb’s command issues to start the season, I think Schwarber is bound to get a few pitches to hit, and if he gets a hit, it’s almost always bound for extra bases.
Washington Nationals vs. New York Mets 7:10 PM ET
Washington Nationals Under 3.5 Runs (-140 per DraftKings)
As of recently, the Washington Nationals have struggled to get runs across the plate, and lost yesterday in a big way, losing 8-0 against the Mets. Over their last 5 games, the Nationals have scored under 3.5 runs in 4 games.
They will see David Peterson on the mound, who has an inflated ERA at the moment at 5.06. Peterson really struggled at the beginning of April, allowing 4+ runs in 3 straight games. In his last 2 outings, he has allowed 0 earned runs, and 1 earned run, respectively.
With this Mets team seemingly turning a corner, I think we will see another strong game out of Peterson, and a slow day at the plate for the Nationals.
Juan Soto Over 1.5 Total Bases (+133 per DraftKings)
Embed from Getty ImagesJuan Soto hasn’t been phenomenal by any means in the month of April, but he went yard last night. He still holds a .300 batting average for the season, and yesterday’s home run may have sparked something special for Soto and this Mets team.
Soto has gone up against Cade Cavalli once in his career, and was able to record 1 hit in 2 at-bats. Cavalli has been good at limiting runs in his last 2 starts, but he has allowed 14 hits in his last 2 games, in just 9 innings of pitching.
With Soto batting in the 2-hole, I expect him to get some good opportunities tonight against this Nationals team.
Detroit Tigers vs. Atlanta Braves 7:15 PM ET
Atlanta Braves Over 3.5 Runs (-110 per DraftKings)
The Braves face off against the Tigers ace Tarik Skubal tonight, who has been pretty strong this year, though he did give up 4 earned runs in his last start. This Braves lineup has played well against Skubal in the past, as 5 players have over a .280 batting average against him.
We’ve seen the Braves score over 3.5 runs in 9 of their last 10 games, and all of their last 5 games. With this game being played at home, and how much depth and experience they have in their lineup, I don’t see them having any issues tonight getting over 3.5 runs.
