San Francisco Giants vs. Washington Nationals 1:35 PM ET

CJ Abrams Over 0.5 Hits (-168 per Draft Kings)

The San Francisco Giants series hasn’t exactly been great for CJ Abrams, as he is only 1 for 9. Over the course of the season thus far, he has still shown to be an effective contact hitter with a .338 batting average, and he rarely goes back-to-back games without recording a hit. Though the matchup on the mound isn’t great for Abrams, with Robbie Ray on the mound, he has seen him the most out of anyone in the Nationals lineup. Against lefties this year, Abrams isn’t quite as good as he is against righties, but he’s still batting .304, which gives me plenty of confidence going into today’s early afternoon matchup against the Giants.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Miami Marlins 1:40 PM ET

Otto Lopez 1+ Strikeouts (-167 per DraftKings)

This pick is mostly due to the guy the Marlins are facing on the mound this afternoon in Jacob Misiorowski, who is an up-and-coming guy with great strikeout stuff. Through his first 4 games and 21.2 innings pitched, Misiorowski has recorded a whopping 33 strikeouts, with 2 games having double-digit strikeouts. Otto Lopez, while he has been very effective at the plate getting on base and in the batting average department, isn’t immune to getting punched out. He already has 2 strikeouts in this Brewers series, and has been struck out in 4 of his last 5 games. The combination of having an unfamiliar arm on the mound, recent strikeout history, and decent value at -167, I have to take Otto Lopez to get K’d up at least once this afternoon.

New York Mets vs. Chicago Cubs 2:20 PM ET

Mets Team Total Over 3.5 Runs (-135 per DraftKings)

The losing streak continues for the Mets, as they eclipsed 10 losses in a row after yesterday’s loss to the Cubs. Yesterday this Mets team only recorded 2 runs and had a combined .212 batting average. Today, however, they will have a favorable matchup on the mound, as the Cubs are wheeling out Javier Assad, who really struggled in his last outing against the Phillies, allowing 9 earned runs, bringing his season ERA to 8.10. New York has also had some success in the past against Assad, as 6 players in the Mets lineup have over a .300 batting average against him. While things have looked grim over the last week and a half or so for the Mets, their breakthrough game is just around the corner, and they have a great opportunity today to get the bats back on track.

Atlanta Braves vs. Philadelphia Phillies 7:20 PM ET

Grant Holmes Under 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed (-151 per DraftKings)

Starting pitcher Grant Holmes has been a solid option for the Braves this season, as he has a 3.32 ERA, and a 1.11 WHIP. Holmes has made 4 starts this season, where he has allowed over 2.5 runs only twice. Last season he only had 1 start against this Phillies team, where he went 4 innings, allowing just 3 hits, and 0 earned runs. The Phillies offense is still finding rhythm this season at the plate, setting up for a low-damage spot for Holmes this evening.

Alec Bohm Under 0.5 Hits (+142 per DraftKings)

Third baseman Alec Bohm has gotten off to a very slow start, to say the least, this year, as he is batting .145 on the season, with just a .414 OPS. In his last 5 games, Bohm has recorded a hit in just 2 of those games. He has also faced Grant Holmes in 3 at-bats in his career, and has yet to record a hit against him. With this game being a high-caliber primetime matchup against rival Atlanta, I don’t see Bohm getting out of his slump this evening, especially against a guy he hasn’t seen success against in the past.
