Here are tonight’s NHL predictions and best bets.

Buffalo Sabres (+115) at Montreal Canadiens (-135)

After losing game one, the Montreal Canadiens won consecutive games for the first time in the playoffs, outscoring the Sabres 11-3 in the two victories. Montreal’s Alex Newhook has led the Habs with back-to-back two-goal games, including scoring the first Montreal goal in both games. He has also had three consecutive games with four shots on goal, easily cashing the Over on his shots on goal prop (1.5). Sticking with the shots on goal props, Canadiens captain Nick Suzuki has registered at least three shots on goal in each of the last three games. 

On the Buffalo side, both Rasmus Dahlin and Josh Doan have been consistent in cashing their shots on goal prop as well. Dahlin has registered at least three shots on goal in six straight and eight of the last 10 against the Canadiens. Josh Doan has had at least three shots on goal in each of his last four games overall and against Montreal. I am also coming back with the same parlay that cashed for me in game two, and that is to take all four players to record two shots on goal.

The two teams have combined for six goals or more in each of their last 11 meetings. Five of the 11 have had at least seven goals.

The Ducks and Golden Knights series is the perfect example of why momentum in the Stanley Cup Playoffs doesn’t carry over from one game to the next but from one shift to another within each game. Anaheim and Vegas have traded wins and losses through the first four games of the series. With their victory in game four, the Ducks improved to 4-0 following a loss in this year’s playoffs. 

Ducks rookie Beckett Sennecke has goals in each of the last three games, with each goal opening the scoring for Anaheim, and two of those goals were the first goal of the game. Ducks’ defenseman, Jacob Trouba has had at least two shots on goal in all four games of the series and in 10 of his last 12 games against the Golden Knights. Mason McTavish returned to the lineup in game four and had three shots on goal. He has had at least two shots on goal in five of his last six and eight of his last 11 head-to-head matchups against the Golden Knights. 

On the Vegas side, Mitch Marner leads all players in scoring with 16 points and is coming off back-to-back multi-point games (3,4) and has had at least two points in five of his last six games. Marner has had two shots on goal or more in each of his last eight games. Brett Howden continues to be one of the biggest surprises of the playoffs. Howden had just 12 goals in the regular season and is tied for the playoff lead with seven, thanks to goals in six of his last seven games. I rode the Pavel Dorofeyev goal, assist and shots on goal prop in game four with Dorofeyev getting bumped up to the top line with Mark Stone injured. He cashed his anytime goal and goal prop, and I will come back with all three again tonight.
