The 2026 French Open (also known as Roland Garros) is officially underway at the Stade Roland Garros in Paris. We’ve broken down the day’s best tennis betting picks, digging into matchup tactics, surface tendencies, and current form to find the sharpest edges on the board. Whether you’re betting the moneyline, game spread, set spread, or total, our 2026 French Open best bets are designed to help you profit. I’m dropping some of my favorite plays for Wednesday, May 27 below, but make sure you also monitor the picks page. I usually have a few more picks over there, plus I occasionally add plays based on how lines are moving. That’s also where Gill Alexander posts his bets.

Mariano Navone vs. Jakub Mensik

I usually like to avoid backing the obvious side in a match. When things look too good to be true, it’s because they usually are. Well, getting Mensik, a rising star and a far more talented player than Navone, at -125 definitely seems a little too good to be true. But given the circumstances, I can’t help myself.

Navone was able to defeat Jenson Brooksby in the opening round, but it was a physical 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 victory. The match lasted two hours and 36 minutes, which was the last thing Navone needed after a run to the finals in Geneva. I just don’t know how much longer Navone can go with his playing style. He’s undoubtedly a solid ball-striker, but he’s a grinder as well. So, once his legs go, he’s going to have trouble advancing in Paris.

Mensik is also a brutal matchup for Navone. The Czech is an elite server, so he might not be bothered much by Navone’s high-level returning. Mensik also uses his length very well as a returner, which could help him get into Navone’s service games. On top of all of that, Mensik’s backhand will be the best groundstroke in this match, and the Czech has the ability to win longer rallies. I just don’t see many pathways to a Navone victory. Navone’s best hope is Mensik succumbing to the heat.

Bet: Mensik ML (-125 – 2 units)

Pablo Carreno Busta vs. Thanasi Kokkinakis
Dino Prizmic vs. Joao Fonseca

Kokkinakis can be a very dangerous player when he’s healthy, but we unfortunately don’t get to see him on the court very often. Kokkinakis has played only four ATP-level matches this year, and we have only seen him in three Challenger-level matches. With that in mind, I’m just not sure we can expect the Australian to stay healthy in this tournament. We have seen far fitter players struggling to get through matches, and I just wouldn’t be surprised if the heat gets to Kokkinakis at some point. Carreno Busta has also been playing some phenomenal tennis lately. The 34-year-old won a Challenger title in Murcia in March, and he kept up his winning ways in the weeks after. Carreno Busta also sent a message in the opening round, beating Jiri Lehecka in dominant 6-3, 7-6 (3), 6-3 fashion. This is a golden opportunity for the Spaniard, who has always been a good clay-court player. He should be able to get by Kokkinakis, even if the Australian is healthy. The only real edge Kokkinakis will have is power on serve, but that’s not a major advantage on clay.

To get a better price on Carreno Busta moneyline, I’m taking Prizmic to win a set against Fonseca. I actually think this is the match of the day, as Prizmic is a very good clay-court player going up against one of the sport’s young phenoms. The atmosphere should be electric, as it always is with Fonseca matches. And Fonseca will be the player that’s expected to get through. However, Prizmic should be able to keep this thing somewhat close. He’s good at extending rallies, can ramp up the aggression when needed, and he’s mentally tough. That’s the type of player that can give Fonseca trouble.

Valentin Royer vs. Novak Djokovic

Djokovic should be able to advance here. He’s still a top-three player in the world, his problem-solving makes him tough to beat in best-of-five matches, and he has to be insanely driven as he looks around the draw and sees players dropping like flies. There’s a real opportunity for Djokovic to make a run to the final, and we have already seen proof this season that he can beat Jannik Sinner in a major. Djokovic does, however, struggle when playing in the day session in hot conditions, and the weather in Paris on Wednesday calls for 90+ degrees and sunny skies.

I just wouldn’t be surprised if Djokovic really labors through this one. These are the conditions in which you usually see him leaned back with an ice towel around his neck, and his box eventually has to run liquids down to him. Meanwhile, Royer is a Frenchman that should win over the crowd with his ball-striking, and he played very well in his straight-set win over Hugo Dellien in Round 1. As long as he doesn’t let nerves get the best of him, he can easily win a set here.

Bet: Royer To Win A Set (-104)
